FEATURED VIP #3

My favorite speech is Steve Jobs’s commencement address, in which he encourages us to live with faith, seek true love in work and companionship, and to use death to prioritize what really matters. I have taken his advice to heart and appreciate the chance to tell you about my life and whom I’m hoping to share it with.

When I die, I hope to be surrounded by family and friends, and that they will have felt God’s love and peace through my life. My biggest claim to fame will be my family and my greatest trait will be how I treated others. I used the mountains and valleys in my life to grow and become a more beautiful person. In spite of failures, I never lost courage, and I kept taking on challenges to find new ways of succeeding. I gave my all, enjoyed every second of it, and stayed true to who I was and what I valued. I had compassion for all people and lived in service of my family and humankind. I hope my funeral is still a way off, and I am living my life to make these things so.

In terms of my stats, I am a 34 year old American with German heritage, living in Los Angeles. I stand 6’2” with an athletic physique, light brown hair, and hazel eyes. I am focused in my approach to life, but my day-to-day baseline is light hearted and goofy.

One day at a time, I’m learning, puzzling, and walking my way through life. I love to learn and drink deeply from all types of books, mentors, and life experiences. I read ~25 books annually and my all-time favorites are Harry Potter and East of Eden for fiction, and Steve Jobs, Long Walk to Freedom (Nelson Mandela), and Man’s Search for Meaning for non-fiction. Daily, I seek God’s will for my life through prayer and I calm my senses and introspect through meditation. I regularly connect with a therapist and exec coach as well as mentors, so I don’t have to make every mistake firsthand!

As a kid I felt the most unconditional love from my Grandmother, and she and I spent hours puzzling and baking. To keep it going, I’ve done almost every Cavallini puzzle out there, and find simple pleasure in connecting pieces and slowly uncovering the bigger picture. I love baking her butterscotch brownies and refrigerator cookies and my friends say they are divine. I also try not to overthink (or over-puzzle), and let my heart and my intuition guide my life.

Everything feels better after a walk – urban hikes across the globe, sunset walks in my neighborhood, and sunrise hikes are my favorites. I also love to practice yoga, play basketball and soccer, and lift weights. Often, I joke with my friends that I need to take my MEDS daily, so I’m my best self – Meditation, Exercise, Diet, and Sleep. So far, when I do these things, I’m happier and healthier and able to give the world my best. Lastly, I’m a huge believer that who you do things with is far more important than what you do. Regardless, if the activity is new, old, strange, or a simple walk, I seek to do it with great company.

I count myself lucky to have discovered my knack and passion for leadership when I was the captain of my 8th grade soccer team, which tragically finished 2nd in the nerdy middle school league championship. I love leading teams to pursue worthy goals that make the world a better place (and yes the world would have been a better place if we’d beat Kingston and won the middle school championship…). I approach my work with a big vision, with tenacity, creativity, an abundance mindset, and as a learning machine. I’ve been blessed to have success early in my career as the COO and CEO of early stage businesses that I helped to grow by more than 100x and to exit during my tenure. I believe in capitalism and the role the private sector plays in helping our society flourish. I plan to use my experience and capital to start a business that will change the world. You could say that I’m in search of two co-founders – one for my business and, more importantly, one for my family (hopefully you ;)).

For the family co-founder, I hope to find a best friend to love, support, and with whom I can grow through life. I hope to build an amazing foundation together, and then start a family based on the values of love, growth, kindness, spirituality, adventure, and service. My future partner will be genuine, caring, and passionate about the things she chooses to do. She will have a positive, optimistic, “anything is possible” view on life. She will have an ease about her because she will be grounded in faith and view life as a learning experiment through which to grow. I can’t wait to begin the journey together.

My best suited match is in her 20’s to early 30’s. She has medium to long hair and is someone who is in shape, feminine, kind, and loving. If I could wave a magic wand, I’d find a woman who ultimately wants to be a loving mother and partner as her priority, without sacrificing her career. She’s energized by the idea of marriage, family, and commitment. Above all, she wants to tackle the hardships and rejoice in the excitement of life as a winning team.
